Bayern Munich have significantly strengthened their options in defense and attack this season. They signed Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven to give Vincent Kompany another strong option in the attack. Meanwhile, Nathaniel Brown has joined from Eintracht Frankfurt to boost the options in defense. The German defender can also play in the midfield for Bayern if needed.

The Bundesliga champions are yet to sign a midfielder, even though Leon Goretzka left on a free transfer. According to Sky Sports in Germany, Bayern have no plans to sign a new midfielder. They had interest in Hertha Berlin’s Kennet Eichhorn, but the overall package was too expensive from Die Roten’s perspective.

Even though Bayern do not want to sign a new midfielder, they are working on a deal to keep a young midfielder who was part of the squad last season.

According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern are negotiating with Gambinos Stars to sign Bara Ndiaye on a permanent deal. The Senegalese midfielder joined Bayern on loan in January as part of the player development partnership between Bayern and Gambinos Stars.

The 18-year-old midfielder ended up getting game time with the first team at Bayern. He got two starts in the Bundesliga at the end of the season and made two further appearances from the bench. Bayern and Vincent Kompany are impressed with Ndiaye. The Bavarian club is keen on offering him a five-year contract.

It remains to be seen if Bayern wants to keep Ndiaye in the first team next season or send him out on loan to get more game time.

Tom Bischof gets a new number at Bayern

Die Roten are set to give Tom Bischof a crucial role in the midfield next season. The U-21 German midfielder got significant game time in the left-back position last season. However, the departure of Leon Goretzka will allow Bischof to get minutes in his favoured position.

The former Hoffenheim midfielder will be a third-choice option in the centre of the park behind Joshua Kimmich and Aleksandar Pavlovic.

Along with a new role, Bischof has also got a new number as he takes the number eight vacated by Goretzka. Considering how well Bischof performed last season, it will be interesting to see how Kompany utilises him in the midfield next season.

As things stand, Bayern are going into the season with Kimmich, Pavlovic, and Bischof as their three prime midfield options. Ndiaye can be the fourth option if Die Roten sign him on a permanent deal and keep him in the squad. Brown and Josip Stanisic can also play in the midfield needed.
