The transfer window went into overdrive over the last couple of weeks as clubs look to seal deals before the start of the World Cup. Bayern Munich are working on a couple of deals, but one of the biggest talking points in the last few days has been Real Madrid’s interest in Michael Olise.
As part of his agenda for the summer after being elected President of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez is planning to make a €150 million bid for a player from a Champions League club.
According to The Telegraph and The Guardian, Real Madrid are planning to make a move for Michael Olise. Perez had denied that the player he would push to sign is Olise, but the Spanish club has long held an interest in the French forward.
Real Madrid’s new head coach, Jose Mourinho, was in Berlin to watch the DFB Pokal final between Bayern and VfB Stuttgart. The Portuguese coach is reportedly keen on making Olise one of his key signings at Real Madrid.
Bayern have no plans to part ways with one of their key players. Herbert Hainer, club president, has once again reiterated that Bayern will reject every bid for Olise this summer. He is part of their long-term plans.
Herbert Hainer: "Michael Olise is a player of FC Bayern München, and he is under a long-term contract. We are not a selling club. If Florentino Pérez wants to send us a bid - which has not happened so far - he can save himself the trouble." [@JBerner97, @BILD] pic.twitter.com/x0zXSRjICm

Bayern should look to offer Olise a new deal this summer
Olise has been one of the best forwards in Europe this season. The French forward enjoyed a productive season, scoring 22 goals across all competitions. He has been one of the best creators in Europe, assisting 25 goals.
Provided he has a good World Cup, Olise has a great shot at finishing in the top 5 for the Ballon d’Or. It will be a catastrophic move if Bayern decide to cash in on Olise this summer. They will get mouth-watering money, but it will significantly weaken the squad. Moreover, it sets a bad precedent, losing your best players to European rivals.
In order to send out a strong statement, Bayern should certainly reject all bids for Olise this summer. The Bavarian club should open talks with the French forward for a new deal. His current contract expires in 2029. The player will also feel rewarded with a new deal, and Bayern will also send a warning to interested clubs that Olise is here to stay in Munich. For now, Bayern and Olise will be relaxed despite the noise in the media regarding Real Madrid's interest in completing the transfer this summer.
