DEFENSE

Maximillian Mittelstädt

Maximillian Mittelstädt has been the most consistent of all Stuttgart defenders this season. In addition to regular defensive duties the German international also consistently offers overlapping runs and precise crosses into the box. He has three assists in six Bundesliga games this season for Die Schwaben.

Kim Min-jae

The South Korean defender is an integral part of Kompany’s ruthlessly offensive style of football. His aggressiveness in duels and recovery speed have been crucial in blocking off counterattacks.

Dayot Upamecano

Just like his counterpart Kim Min-jae, Upamecano's pace, ball-playing ability, and aggressiveness have been key in Bayern’s system.

GOALKEEPER

Manuel Neuer

Compared to Stuttgart’s Alexander Nübel, Bayern’s number 1 Manuel Neuer is simply the superior keeper although both have been far from convincing so far in this season. Neuer has one clean sheet to his name while Nubel has zero. The latter has also conceded more goals (11) than Neuer (7).

Combined Bayern- Stuttgart XI: Neuer; Mittelstädt, Kim Min-jae, Upamecano; Kimmich, Pavlović, Stiller, Musiala; Olise, Kane, Millot

COACH

Sebastian Hoeneß

Sebastian Hoeneß led this Stuttgart team to their highest-ever points total and a second-place finish last season. Newly appointed Vincent Kompany has done relatively well in implementing his style of expansive football at Bayern, however, he is yet to register a big game win. As of now, Hoeneß wins this matchup.

FC Bayern currently sit first on the table while Stuttgart are placed eighth after a surprisingly average start to their campaign. Sebastian Hoeneß will be looking to narrow down this difference in the upcoming game, while Kompany is under massive expectation to finally lead Bayern to a victory in a big game.
