Bayern Munich didn’t have the best start to the summer transfer window as they missed out on a deal for Anthony Gordon. The English forward ended up leaving Newcastle United to join FC Barcelona. It was a big setback for Bayern since Gordon had emerged as the top target to strengthen the attack.

Since losing out on Gordon, Bayern have moved quickly to secure other deals. They have already reached an agreement with PSV Eindhoven for Ismael Saibari. The Moroccan forward has completed the medical in the USA to seal a move to Munich. The Bundesliga champions will be paying €55 million, including bonuses for Saibari.

Die Roten are also in advanced talks with Eintracht Frankfurt for Nathaniel Brown. The German left-back has already agreed personal terms with Die Roten. The two clubs are very close to completing a deal for a total package of €55 million.

After a disappointing summer last year, Bayern have moved quickly to address their key positions for a combined fee of €110 million. Once Brown completes the medical, Bayern will take a backseat in the transfer window.

According to SportBild (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern will not aggressively look for new signings once the deals for Brown and Saibari are concluded. The Bavarian club’s approach to further signings will depend on departures.

Bayern may need additions in midfield and defense later in the summer

Considering the finances involved in the two deals, it makes sense for Bayern to balance its books by financing other deals through departures. However, they certainly need one addition in the midfield after the departure of Leon Goretzka on a free transfer.

Die Roten had interest in signing Kennet Eichhorn from Hertha BSC, but it does look like Bayer Leverkusen are set to sign the youngster. Bayern had reportedly ended their pursuit due to the significant agent commissions involved in the deal.

The Bavarian club may also need a center-back if Kim Min-jae or Hiroki Ito end up leaving Munich. Kim Mithe third-choicen-jae is not keen on looking for a transfer. The South Korean defender is fine with being third choice center-back in the squad. Meanwhile, Ito has reportedly been told by Bayern to look for a transfer this summer.

In terms of departures, Bayern Munich are hoping to seal permanent exits of Joao Palhinha, Bryan Zaragoza, and Sacha Boey. All three players spent time on loan last season. These three departures may give Bayern wiggle room to pursue other signings.
