Nicolas Jackson
In his first European Champions League start for Bayern Munich, Nicolas Jackson registered an assist and a goal while playing as the number nine. Twenty minutes into the game, serving as the target man, he worked a nice one-two from inside the box with Raphael Guerreiro for the Portuguese defender to score the game’s second goal.
For Bayern’s third goal, from inside the box, the Senegalese forward displayed good control and a quick release to score before the keeper barely had time to react. Jackson did miss a couple of relatively easy chances in the match, but he was still a meaningful contributor on the night, and as such is entitled to the recognition.
His link-up play and ball retention on the night were much better than his previous outings in a Bayern shirt. At times he also led the press well.
