Konrad Laimer
The Austrian box-to-box midfielder cum right-back, now playing left-back due to the team’s long injury list, again impressed immensely despite being played out of position.
As the left-back, Laimer not only put in a good shift defensively but also combined well with Luiz Diaz to supplement the attack, similarly to how he had been doing with Michael Olise on the right flank. In the attack, the 28-year-old created five chances and got himself a goal by linking up well with Tom Bischof.
Laimer had 85 touches in the game and was successful with 87% of his passes (55/63). His work rate and pressing were also top-notch throughout the game.
