In Bayern Munich’s final game of the 2024/25 Bundesliga campaign, the German Champions travelled to the Rhein-Necker Arena to take on Hoffenheim.

Just after a rather dull opening half hour, Bayern took the lead through a splendid Michael Olise free kick to go into the half-time interval with a one-goal lead. In the second half, Die Roten proceeded to assert their overall superiority by scoring three more goals courtesy of Joshua Kimmich, Serge Gnabry, and substitute Harry, who replaced Thomas Muller for the final 30 minutes.

As is customary, let’s now have a look at three players who shone for the Bavarian giants in Saturday’s comprehensive 4-0 victory over Hoffenheim.

Michael Olise

Michael Olise did it again. During the business end of the season, the 23-year-old French forward has frequently been the recipient of the man-of-the-match award, so all things considered, it was no surprise to see him deliver another superb performance on Saturday. Olise was both Bayern’s best attacking and most creative player against Hoffenheim. He looked his typically silky-smooth self all evening and was once again involved everywhere on the pitch with 68 touches.

Olise found his target with 90% of his passes (44/49) and was a perfect 2/2 on long balls. In attack, apart from scoring the opener with an inch-perfect freekick over the wall, he also created three chances, including the assist to Joshua Kimmich for Bayern’s second goal inside of an hour. In terms of dribbling, he was successful on three of five attempts.

Olise also contributed to his team’s cause on the defensive side of the game by winning six of ten contested ground duels and completing three recoveries. Terrific debut Bundesliga campaign for the French forward. He looks ready for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
