Konrad Laimer
Speaking of Konrad Laimer, he lived up to his reputation and wasn’t to be outdone by Bischof. During his 75-minute stay on the pitch, Bayern’s Austrian army knife had 73 touches and found a teammate with 91% of his passes (49/54), including a pinpoint cross for Jackson to head home for the second goal.
Laimer was his typical offensive self with five touches in the opposition’s box and linked up beautifully at times with both Nicolas Jackson and Lennart Karl. The Austrian could have got another assist in the second half, but his probing cross was headed wide by Jackson. With the game over as a contest, Sacha Boey replaced Laimer for the last quarter of an hour.
If the 28-year-old Austrian can continue to provide crosses like the one he delivered to Jackson for the second goal, it would further fortify the Bayern attack.
