On Saturday evening, Bayern Munich visited Deutsche Bank Park to take on potential Bundesliga challengers, Eintracht Frankfurt. The reigning Bundesliga Champions flew out of the gates and took the lead just 15 seconds into the match when a sliding Luis Diaz steered home Serge Gnabry’s low cross from inside the six-yard box.

However, the home team did try to make a fist of it after being caught cold. In the 15th minute, what first appeared to be a legitimate equalizer was correctly ruled out, following VAR intervention, for an inadvertent handball during build-up play.

Twelve minutes later, Harry Kane put Bayern firmly in control with a spectacularly swerving long-range attempt. Frankfurt was less of a threat after the half-time interval. In the 84th minute, at the end of a lightning-fast counter-attack, Luis Diaz scored his second goal of the match to cap off a perfect evening for the visitors. Let’s look at three players who shone in Bayern’s 3-0 statement victory over Frankfurt on matchday six of the ongoing 2025/26 Bundesliga season.

Luiz Diaz

Against Frankfurt, Luis Diaz had, by far, his best game to date since joining Bayern Munich. The 28-year-old Colombian was involved in all three goals. In between completing a brace, he also provided the assist to Harry Kane for the second goal.

In the attacking phases of the game Lucho scored with two of his three attempts on goal and created three chances in total. His ball distribution was also on point as he found a teammate with 93% of his attempted passes (38/41).

His enhanced prowess in attack didn’t take away from his defensive efforts. Despite only winning one third of his contested ground duels, Diaz did an excellent job at tracking back and helping to shut down the opposition when needed. Lucho was the undisputed man of the match.
