Joshua Kimmich
Joshua Kimmich had a typically well-balanced game. Bayern enjoyed 61% ball possession over the course of the game, and an amazing 74% in the first half.
A major reason for the significant advantage in possession was down to the presence of Joshua Kimmich in the midfield. The 30-year-old midfield maestro had 103 touches and found a teammate with 91% of his passes (77/85). Kimmich supplemented the attack with regularity and also contributed defensively.
From an attacking perspective, Kimmich registered both of his attempted shots on target and created two chances, including the corner kick, which Harry Kane headed home for the opening goal. He also picked out a teammate with three of his five attempted crosses and found his target with 75% of his attempted long balls (12/16).
Honorable mention goes out to Dayot Upamecano who was instrumental in limiting Dortmund to just the one shot on target over the course of the match.
