On Saturday evening, Bayern Munich finally got to celebrate with home fans after regaining the Bundesliga crown last weekend. With the great Thomas Muller playing his final Bundesliga match at the Allianz Arena, the atmosphere was emotionally charged to say the least.

However, before the celebrations and farewells could be shared, the record German Champions had to play against mid-table side Borussia Mönchengladbach. Having already secured the 2024/25 Meisterschale the previous weekend, Thomas Muller would have been the focus of attention on Saturday evening regardless of the outcome of the matchday 33 encounter. Let’s now give some attention to three Bayern players who shone in the 2-0 win on Saturday

Michael Olise

Michael Olise wasn’t quite his typical stellar self on Saturday evening, but he still impressed immensely. For the second weekend in a row, the 23-year-old attacker put his stamp on the game with two decisive contributions.

Whilst his first-half assist to Harry Kane for Bayern’s opening goal may not have been his intended outcome, there is no denying his cheeky finish with the outside of his left foot to make it 2-0 in final minute of regulation time.

Overall, it was another well-rounded, if not dominant, performance from Olise. He was involved from start to finish with 87 touches and created seven chances. Apart from scoring and assisting goals, he kept the opposition’s defenders on their toes by completing five of his eight attempted dribbles and also had nine touches in Gladbach's penalty area. His crossing also wasn’t bad as he found a teammate with two of his four attempts on crosses. Olise was also a major contributor off the ball by winning eight of 13 contested ground duels. In defense, he also chipped in with a clearance and a recovery.
