Jamal Musiala

If the man-of-the-match wasn’t the England Captain, then it has to be Jamal Musiala. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder opened the scoring for Bayern in the 19th minute when he latched onto Michael Olise’s delicate cut back from the inside right channel. Musiala displayed excellent composure to bury a one-time finish in the bottom left corner.

Musiala was a spark for the hosts in attack throughout the match. The German international was on target with three of his four shots; he completed four of five dribbles and made seven passes into the final third. Considering how disappointing Bayern were defensively in the last half-hour, it was a good thing that Kompany didn’t decide to give Musiala some time off along with Kane in the second half. Musiala also put in an excellent shift off the ball. He made three recoveries and won seven of his nine contested ground duels.
