Harry Kane
Harry Kane didn’t get much service on Saturday and as a result, he had just 35 touches despite playing the full 90 minutes. However, he still managed to impact the game at both ends of the pitch.
Having failed to score in Bayern’s previous two games, Kane regained the goal-scoring touch with a masterful turn to escape a defender on his hip before galloping forward through the inside right channel to unleash an unstoppable low drive to make it 1-0 for the visitors after 15 minutes.
On the defensive side of the game, the England Captain won three of four contested tackles and also won seven ground duels. He even managed to block a shot near the end and was fouled in the process, with Freiburg pressing for an equalizer. The Bavarian faithful will be hoping that Kane can sustain this kind of form for the rest of the season.
Honourable mention goes to Joshua Kimmich who started the match in the right-back position but then shifted to midfield near the end of the first half when Leon Goretzka got injured and had to be replaced by Josip Stanisic.
