Jamal Musiala
Despite the collective effort to achieve an impressive result against Freiburg, Bayern got off to another slow start but that soon changed after Jamal Musiala came within a whisker of giving them the lead. In the 13th.minute Musiala collected the ball on the left side of midfield and then beautifully turned his marker before driving forward with one of his trademark runs and unleashing a rocket from just outside the box. Unfortunately for Bayern, his shot cannoned off the post. However, it was just the sort of spark that the visitors needed. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder got his side in the mood for goals with that foray and two minutes later Bayern took the lead through Harry Kane.
Musiala was Bayern’s most impactful player in attack particularly in the first half. Although he didn’t get his name on the scoresheet on Saturday, he delivered an impressive performance during his 83 minutes on the pitch as he was impressive both with and without the ball. Musiala completed all but one of his seven dribble attempts and amazingly won 13 of his 16 attempted ground duels.
