Lennart Karl
Whilst Olise took control of the game in the second half, it was Lennart Karl who spearheaded the comeback in the first half. In the 22nd minute, he halved the deficit with a finish that even Harry Kane himself would have been proud of. The 17-year-old made a darting diagonal run into the box and superbly controlled the pass from Olise before smashing home with his weaker right foot.
Towards the end of the first half, Karl returned the favor by providing the assist for the Frenchman to equalize. Apart from the goal and assist, it was a marvellous sight to see the teenager gesticulating to his teammates to spur them on after he scored.
After taking a knock, he was replaced in the 71st minute by Nicolas Jackson. The Bavarian faithful will be hoping that Karl will be passed fit for Wednesday’s mammoth clash against Arsenal.
