Josip Stanisic
It’s not often that a Bayern defender is awarded the man-of-the-match award. However, a strong case could be made for Josip Stanisic, who played the entire game at right back.
The 25-year-old Croatian defender headed in Bayern’s opening goal 15 minutes into the game and set up Luis Diaz for the third goal in the 86th minute. Throughout the game, he linked up well with Michael Olise to pose a threat down the right flank without compromising his defensive duties.
With Konrad Laimer serving a suspension for accumulated yellow cards, it was a breath of fresh air to see Stanisic and Olise work so well in tandem.
