Michael Olise
Michael Olise may not have scored on Tuesday, but he was everywhere in the attack and gave the Sporting defenders a torrid time. The 23-year-old French attacker created five chances in the match, including the assist via a corner for Gnabry’s equalizer.
Olise completed an impressive 93 % of his attempted passes (54/58). He was also successful with six of his eight attempted dribbles and made 12 sprints over the course of the match. His contributions off the ball were just as impressive as he won two of three tackles and ten of sixteen contested ground duels. He also completed two recoveries.
Honorable mentions go out to Jonathan Tah, Konrad Laimer, and Joshua Kimmich. Tah defended well throughout the match and scored the third goal. Laimer set up the second goal and once again worked impressively in tandem with Olise on the right flank. Joshua Kimmich recovered well after scoring the own-goal.
