Bayern Munich: Top performers from 3-1 victory over Slovan Bratislava

A decent showing was not good enough for Bayern Munich to crack the top-eight in points standings on the final day of the league stage of the European Champions League

Michael Olise

Michael Olise played as one half of a double-ten pairing alongside Thomas Muller in an attacking 4-1-4-1 formation on Wednesday night, and for most of the match, he displayed the right kind of energy, both on and off the ball.

On the attacking front, Olise created three big chances and was successful with three of his four attempted dribbles. He also helped in keeping the opposition on the back foot with 13 passes into the final third of the pitch. When he wasn’t helping in the quest for goals, he impressed with his defensive work. Olise won eight of his eleven contested ground duels and even managed to block two shots on goal. The only thing missing from the 23-year-old French attacker on the night was a goal.
