Joshua Kimmich

With Bayern requiring time to crack the Stuttgart defensive code, Joshua Kimmich provided the control in midfield and dominated possession. In the first 10 minutes of the game, Aleksandar Pavlović injured his shoulder and had to be replaced by João Palhinha. The duo of Kimmich and Palhinha looked comfortable throughout the remainder of the game with the German captain dictating the tempo of the game which allowed the Portuguese international to play to his strengths.

Kimmich had 103 touches throughout the match and was accurate with 94% of his passes (87/93). He won five of his six ground duels and completed both of his dribble attempts. Kimmich also set up Kane for the opening goal.
