Luis Diaz

After a quiet start to the game, Bayern Munich sprang into life, courtesy of a piece of brilliance from Luis Diaz. The Colombian forward scored his 20th goal of the season after a sweeping team move in the 33rd minute. Diaz received the chipped pass from Goretzka perfectly and hammered it past the goalkeeper.

At the end of the first half, Diaz became the provider. Jackson found him on the left flank as Bayern looked to punish Gladbach on the counter. The Colombian forward got the ball on his favoured foot and played a crisp pass to find the run of Konrad Laimer on the right flank. The Austrian did the rest by putting the ball past the goalkeeper.

Diaz is getting efficient with each passing game. He is no longer as wasteful as he was at the start of the season. The 29-year-old was also secure on the ball, completing 87% of his passes. Kompany rightly substituted the Colombian after the hour mark as he wanted to save the forward for Tuesday’s game. Diaz had done enough in the 60 minutes to make sure Bayern came home with yet another three points.
