Tom Bischof impressed with his midfield control
Tom Bischof was easily Bayern Munich's best player in the away loss. In the absence of almost every first-team player, Bischof was given the heavy lifting in the midfield to both create and control the tempo. He did just that, and more.
The new No. 8 looked comfortable with the ball at his feet, not only with his passing but also with his dribbling in tight spaces. His vision was also remarkable, notably the long-range low-driven pass to Arijon Ibrahimovic to initiate the counter-attack after intercepting the ball inside the defensive box.
As a reward, Bischof deservedly got the team's first goal of the season off a penalty.
The 21-year-old can be proud of his performance and strive to be better in the rest of the offseason, as well as when the campaign starts.
Tom Bischof is a serious star. He will play a crucial role for Die Roten in the center of the park this season.
