Vincent Kompany's Bayern Munich kicked off the 2026/27 campaign with a narrow defeat in Wiesbaden, but plenty of takeaways from the game.

Best young player performance: Tim Binder

There were a few positives offensively for Bayern at the Brita Arena, but Tim Binder was surely the standout performer. The 19-year-old was brought on in the first half to replace Oluwaseyi Wilson in the 26th minute.

Although he was generally quiet during the first half, Binder looked phenomenal in the second half and impressed with his smooth dribbling. His effort created the penalty for Tom Bischof to tie the game at 1-1.

Tim Binder certainly looks like a talent that could be called up by Vincent Kompany this season.
