Bad day at the office for Kim Min-jae

Poor Kim-Min-jae, poor Bayern. Although Kim is having a much better season than he did last season in terms of both his performances and working in tandem with either Dayot Upamecano or Eric Dier, the South Korean has had his ups and downs this season. Kim’s ongoing knee pain and Achilles tendon soreness haven’t made life any easier for him and Bayern throughout most of this season.

However, on Saturday Kim could well lay claim to being the architect of Holstein Kiel’s comeback. Just after the hour mark, it was his errant pass out from the back that paved the way for the visitors to score their first ever away goal against Bayern. After that Die Roten collectively struggled to keep a lid on things at the back as Kim’s confidence, along with the focus from some of his teammates, seemingly began to fade whilst the opposition seemed buoyed by the goal. It’s not the first time he has made a poor pass out from the back, so it’s definitely an area where improvement is needed.
