Conclusion

In a game in which both teams failed to score in open play, Bayern defended the set-pieces and managed to find the back of the net on three occasions with their own set plays, albeit two of the three goals in Bayern’s favor were own goals.

Bayern are currently struggling to find the form that they displayed earlier in the season, but a large part of that continues to be due to the heavy workload being placed on a currently thin squad. It is a sign of great mentality in the team that they are getting results even on their bad days. However, even with Hiroki Ito now back in the mix, Vincent Kompany is going to have to be creative with his squad rotation for the remainder of the Hinrunde.
