Bayern win despite playing poorly

This was one of those games where somehow the winning team managed to pull off the victory despite being both collectively and individually underwhelming.

However, by focusing on the positives, we see that Bayern converted twice from their four corner kicks, even though the first goal was an own goal by Union Berlin striker Ilyas Ansah. On the other hand, Bayern didn’t concede from the two corner kicks that Union Berlin were awarded.

In fact, with both of Union Berlin’s goals coming from penalty kicks, it meant that Bayern didn’t concede from open play or set plays. This is a welcome relief for Bayern as corner kicks have recently been their kryptonite.
