Galvanized squad

Friday’s victory over Bremen clearly reflected the unity of the team. Spirits are high despite the personnel shortage, and the coach, Vincent Kompany, deserves credit for how well he has gotten the team to gel.

Last season, it appeared, at times, as if Kompany was another one of those coaches who was reluctant to call upon the younger players. However, this season he has improved in this aspect. Whether or not he was forced to do so because of the thin squad is debatable, but in any event, based on the performances of the players, it’s clear that he has the support and respect of the team.

His trust in teenagers Lennart Karl and Wisdom Mike is a welcome boon with Jamal Musiala still on the mend and whilst Nicolas Jackson is still settling in.
