Serge Gnabry continues to thrive in number ten role

Harry Kane grabbed all the headlines after scoring a brace against Dortmund and rightly so. However, Serge Gnabry deserves plaudits for yet another solid performance in the number ten position.

Bayern are still taking a cautious approach when it comes to managing the workload of Jamal Musiala. Gnabry was handed a start behind Kane against Borussia Dortmund, while Musiala came off the bench in the second half.

The former Arsenal forward provided the crucial assist for Kane’s first goal. He showed great awareness in the box to head the ball towards the English forward. Apart from the assist, Gnabry created two chances. The German forward also completed 95% of the passes he attempted on Saturday.

Gnabry once again showed why Bayern made the right decision by extending his contract. He will not start games regularly, but always delivers good performances whenever called upon. He has excelled in the number ten role this season, so the performance against Dortmund was not surprising.
