Bayern find solution to defend against counter-attacks

In the first half Bayern outshot Bremen nine to two in terms of total shots and three to zero in terms of shots on target. It was clear that Bayern were a bit shaky in defense while struggling to crack the code to break through Bremen’s 5-3-2 defensive formation during the opening 45 minutes.

However, the home team took it up a notch in the second half. Long before the 56th minute when Kane converted Bayern’s first penalty kick, he had already signaled his and his team’s intentions just seconds after the restart when he rattled the Bremen crossbar with a rocket of a shot from just outside the box.

At the other end of the pitch Bremen failed to register an attempt on goal as Bayern’s defense was tasked with much less work during the second half. Manuel Neuer actually finished the game without having to make a single save.
