Squad rotation works to perfection for Vincent Kompany

With a full squad at his disposal, minus the suspended Michael Olise, Vincent Kompany understandably opted for squad rotation following Wednesday’s 2-0 victory over RB Leipzig in the DFB-Pokal quarter-final just three days prior.

Lennart Karl came in for Olise at right wing, Kim Min-jae and Konrad Laimer replaced Davies and Upamecano in defense, whilst Leon Goretzka got the start in place of Pavlovic alongside Kimmich in midfield.

First up, Karl won the penalty kick when he was fouled in the box at the end of a mazy run. Kim superbly anchored the defense. Konrad Laimer looked his old self again since sustaining an injury in January, and Leon Goretzka scored the third goal and was solid in midfield.
