Injury bug strikes again

Whilst it was a relief to see Stanisic in action once again, Bayern’s injury woes took another hit as Leon Goretzka sustained an injury to his left hamstring and as a result, the 29-year-old midfielder is likely to miss the upcoming Champions League clash against Slovan Bratislava at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday.

Despite being a candidate for sale before the start of the season, Goretzka has done well to earn back a starting spot in midfield and at times fill in at center-back.

With Tom Bischof arriving at Bayern next season, Goretzka is once again expected to be put up for sale in the summer. However, his current importance to Die Roten cannot be overlooked.
