The Champions League came to an end on Saturday as Paris Saint-Germain retained the title by defeating Arsenal in the penalty shoot-out. After the end of the tournament on Saturday, UEFA has released the team of the season. Bayern Munich have two players featured on this team.
Harry Kane is leading the attack in this team as the English forward is currently the best number nine in the world. He scored 61 goals for Bayern across all competitions. In the Champions League, Kane scored 14 goals in 13 games. The 32-year-old also provided two assists in the European competition.
Along with scoring consistently, Kane has also been very handy for Bayern while dropping deep to collect the ball. In the absence of Jamal Musiala during the first half of the season, Kane had to play as 9.5 for Bayern, creating chances as well as showing a poacher’s instinct in the box.
Michael Olise is the other Bayern player on UEFA’s team of the season. After a sensational debut season for Bayern, Olise further improved his numbers in the final third. The French forward scored five goals and provided six assists in the Champions League. He ended the season with 25 goals and 25 assists across all competitions.
Olise’s most memorable goal came against Real Madrid in the second leg of the quarter-final. He scored the decisive fourth goal at Allianz Arena to make it 6-4 on aggregate for Bayern. The French forward was the main creative hub for Die Roten this season, but he also improved his goal tally.
UEFA Team of the season 2025/26
David Raya (Arsenal) – Marcos Llorente (Atlético Madrid), Marquinhos (PSG), Gabriel (Arsenal), Nuno Mendes (PSG) – Michael Olise (Bayern Munich), Declan Rice (Arsenal), Vitinha (PSG), Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (PSG) – Ousmane Dembélé (PSG), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich)
Bayern Munich need to define the futures of Olise and Kane
It is great to see Bayern have two world-class forwards, who have outshone several players in the Champions League. The Bavarian club needs to secure the future of both players before the end of next season.
Kane will enter the final year of his contract post June 30. The English forward is keen on staying in Munich, but Die Roten need to conclude the contract negotiations sooner rather than later to avoid speculation around his future.
Olise has three years left on his contract. Real Madrid and Liverpool have shown strong interest in the French forward. However, Bayern have no intention to sell the forward this summer. The Bundesliga champions need to reward him with a new contract to ensure he stays in Munich for several years.
