Bayern Munich had a successful transfer window where they strengthened Vincent Kompany’s squad for this season with three good additions. They have also managed to trim the squad by sanctioning departures of fringe players for reasonable transfer fees.

However, the most crucial piece of business for Bayern will be concluded in the next few months as they are negotiating with Harry Kane over a new contract. The English striker has entered the final 12 months at Bayern.

The defending Bundesliga champions are confident about securing the future of Kane. They have held productive talks with Kane’s representatives and a positive end to negotiations may happen in the coming days.

For now, Bayern are pushing a strong case in the media about Kane deserving the Ballon d’Or for his spectacular last season. The English striker recently spoke to Marca after winning the European Golden Boot. In this interview, Kane once again reiterated his desire to stay in Munich over the next few seasons.

" I have a lot of respect for La Liga. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atlético are some of the biggest clubs in the world. I grew up watching Ronaldo and Messi. I have tremendous respect for those teams. As we know, anything can happen in football. I never rule anything out, but for now, as I’ve said before, I’m extremely happy in Germany."

Bayern chiefs are confident about extending Kane’s contract

It is very promising to see that Kane is publicly expressing a desire to stay at Bayern. His insistence on staying in Bavaria certainly suggests that negotiations are moving in the right direction. Both parties are hoping for a positive conclusion.

Bayern chiefs have expressed confidence in public when asked about the future of Kane. The Bavarian faithful will hope Kane signs on the dotted line sooner rather than later.

Kane had a quiet start to the season as he was surprisingly not on the scoresheet in the first three competitive games. However, he picked up form in the last three games. He scored a brace against Union Berlin on Friday to reach the milestone of 100 Bundesliga goals.

The English forward is showing no signs of decline. His fitness remains impeccable. The former Spurs forward works hard in and out of possession. His ability to drop deep and pick the runs of other forwards makes him one of the most complete strikers in the world. It is a no-brainer to secure his future by offering him a new deal even though he recently turned 33.

Apart from his incredible qualities on the pitch, Kane is a reference point for young players in the squad. He leads by example in the dressing room, which helps ensure that standards are always high in the first team. Considering the overall package Kane offers, it is not surprising to see Die Roten ready to offer him a long-term contract in his 30s.
