Bayern Munich have a fairly settled defense for the upcoming season. They moved quickly to replace Eric Dier with Jonathan Tah at the start of the summer transfer window. Bayern are also well covered in the full-back positions.

Rekordmeister have no plans to part ways with any full-back this summer. Josip Stanisic is one of the options in the full-back position. The Croatian defender had a disappointing last season due to a serious injury. After a promising loan spell at Bayer Leverkusen, Bayern quickly secured the future of Stanisic by extending his contract until 2029 last summer.

Despite a disappointing last season, Stanisic has been subject to interest from a major European club this summer. According to Sky Sports journalist Floria Plettenberg, AC Milan have shown concrete interest in signing Josip Stanisic this summer.

The Croatian defender quickly rebuffed the interest from the Italian club. Stanisic is eager to stay in Munich and get adequate game time. He is not looking to leave Munich this summer. As things stand, he is Vincent Kompany’s first choice left-back until Alphonso Davies returns from a serious knee injury later this year.

Stanisic will be a crucial player for Bayern this season if he manages to avoid injuries. The Croatian can play anywhere across the back four, giving Kompany great tactical flexibility. Moreover, Stanisic can deliver at least a 7/10 performance every weekend, making him a very reliable player for the Belgian coach. The Bundesliga champions would have rejected a bid from AC Milan if their interest in Stanisic had materialised into an offer.

Kim Min-jae remains a candidate for sale in defense for Bayern

Bayern have no active plans to strengthen the defense this summer. However, they remain open to listening to offers for Kim Min-jae. The South Korean defender is no longer the first-choice center-back for Die Roten since the arrival of Jonathan Tah this summer.

Al-Nassr have been heavily linked with Kim Min-jae, but his representatives have denied a move to Saudi Arabia. The former Napoli defender is not actively pushing for a transfer at this point as he is determined to win his place back in the starting XI.

Bayern will only dip into the transfer market for a defender if Kim Min-jae leaves Bavaria in the next two weeks. The Bavarian club will hope that Hiroki Ito recovers well and get adequate game time to help the team have good amount of depth in central defense.
