Bayern Munich didn't part ways with any of their star performers in the summer. While Michael Olise was heavily linked with Real Madrid, one of the younger players in the squad attracted significant big from Premier League.
According to Bild (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic rejected a €100 million move to Manchester City. The nine-figure attempt to lure Pavlovic to England came in March with the backing of now Man City's head coach Enzo Maresca.
The Cityzens were impressed by the 22-year-old's outstanding 2025/26 campaign, when he played a big role next to Joshua Kimmich en route to Bayern's domestic treble and the Champions League semifinals.
Pavlovic was even considered the first-choice target in Maresca's midfield rebuild. Bayern Munich were aware of the interest, as Man City contacted Pavlovic's camp. After taking some time to think about the situation, Pavlovic decided to turn down the offer, as he felt comfortable at Bayern and wanted to win the Champions League at his boyhood club.
The German midfielder has spent 15 years at Bayern, starting in 2011 when he was seven years old, coming through all the ranks before making his senior debut against Darmstadt in 2023. In the end, there was no formal offer sent from the English side as they believed the midfielder had clearly voiced his decision.
With Pavlovic's concrete stance to remain at Bayern, Manchester City moved on to their next midfield targets. Lille midfielder and Moroccan international Ayyoub Bouaddi was next on the shortlist, who arrived in Manchester with an £81.4 million price tag.
In this summer transfer window, they spent a £320 million haul to revamp their midfield with two other record transfers in Elliot Anderson and Enzo Fernandez for over £115 million each.
