Bayern Munich wanted to strengthen the attack this summer. They had initially pursued a move for Anthony Gordon, but the Englishman left Newcastle United to join FC Barcelona. Bayern eventually moved swiftly to sign Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven.

Saibari is expected to join the squad for pre-season training in early August after enjoying a productive World Cup for Morocco. Die Roten will also have Arijon Ibrahimovic as an option in the attack next season. The youngster signed a new deal after enjoying a productive loan spell at FC Heidenheim.

Bayern have no plans to sign another attacking player this summer. However, there will be interest in their forwards as the squad delivered a record-breaking season when it comes to scoring goals.

According to Sportitalia journalist Gianluigi Longari, Al-Hilal reportedly have Luis Diaz as their dream signing to strengthen the attack this summer. The Saudi Arabian club has already signed Crysencio Summerville from West Ham, but they still want another forward to improve their attacking options.

The probability of Diaz leaving Bayern this summer is next to none. The Colombian forward has been a key player for Die Roten and Vincent Kompany in the last 12 months.

Diaz hit the ground running for Bayern after arriving from Liverpool last summer. The 29-year-old scored 29 goals and chipped in with 23 assists, which is a sensational output for a debut season in Bavaria. He is going to play a crucial role for Bayern if they want to bring the Champions League trophy back to the Allianz Arena in the next couple of seasons.

Bayern will manage Diaz’s game time next season

Diaz was Bayern’s first-choice left-sided forward. He played a whopping 51 games across the season, accumulating a game time of 4,060 minutes. Fortunately, the Colombian didn’t suffer an injury after playing so many games.

The 29-year-old also played for Colombia in the World Cup. He is expected to get a smaller break as he returns to pre-season training early next month.

Considering the significant number of games Diaz has played in the last 12 months, Bayern will have to manage his game time to avoid injury. Vincent Kompany will have more options on the left flank next season.

Saibari can play on the left flank even though his best position is behind the striker. Nathaniel Brown or Alphonso Davies can also play on the left flank. Jamal Musiala and Lennart Karl can also be deployed as the left-sided forward in a four-man attack.
