It was a happy weekend for Bayern Munich fans as their team clinched a crucial 2-1 victory against arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund at Allianz Arena. The Bavarian club went five points clear at the top of the table with the victory against Dortmund.

The scoreline may flatter Dortmund as Bayern had a complete dominance in the first half, creating chances on a consistent basis. It was a travesty for the Bavarian faithful that Die Roten were only 1-0 ahead at the half-time break, courtesy of a header from Harry Kane.

The second half saw Dortmund come back fighting and making it a much more even game. The hosts scored the crucial second goal to seal the three points. Dortmund did score a consolation goal, but Bayern managed the last 15-20 minutes to seal the victory.

Harry Kane was the chief architect of this victory. The English forward played behind Nicolas Jackson for the first hour of the game. He was everywhere across the pitch, contributing defensively and offensively. While talking to Sport1 (via iMiaSanMia), the 32-year-old admitted that his performance against Dortmund was one of the best of his career.

"That was perhaps one of the best games of my career. Mainly because of how I adapted to the game in different ways. I enjoyed that role. It was a physically demanding game because I played almost box-to-box in midfield. "

Along with being a prolific goal-scorer, Kane is brilliant and efficient with the ball. He has an incredible passing range. The English forward works hard for the team when they are defending. The move for the second goal was started by Kane with an accurate crossfield pass to find the run of Luis Diaz on the left flank.

Defensively, Kane imposes himself physically, challenging defenders successfully in duels when he is playing higher up the pitch. The Englishman had five recoveries and made two crucial blocks to deny Dortmund a clear shot at the goal.

Apart from working hard in and out of possession, Kane is scoring at a brisk rate for Die Roten. He has scored 12 goals in the Bundesliga across seven games. The 32-year-old has three assists in the league. His goal tally for the campaign stands at 17 in 11 games. Kane also became the fastest player in the 21st century to score 100 goals for a single club in the top five leagues. These numbers are mindboggling. He is adding more feathers to his cap by playing in different positions without compromising the output in the final third.

It is fair to say Kane is aging like a fine wine. Bayern certainly hit a jackpot by getting him from Spurs for €100 million in 2023.
