Bayern Munich chiefs have been impressed by the work done by Vincent Kompany this season. The Belgian coach has managed to guide Bayern to another Bundesliga title. Die Roten agonisingly got knocked out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage, but still have a chance to lift the DFB Pokal later this month.
Kompany has already been rewarded for his good work since arriving from Burnley in 2024 with an improved contract earlier this season. The Belgian coach also needs more support in the transfer market to ensure they maintain dominance in domestic competitions and also bring the Champions League trophy to Allianz Arena.
The Bavarian club plans to strengthen the attack in the summer as they will not take up the option to sign Nicolas Jackson on a permanent deal. Moreover, Bayern lack depth on the left flank, so they would ideally like to sign a versatile forward.
Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern. However, the Bundesliga champions are also looking at other options since Newcastle want a hefty fee for the English forward.
According to Belgian Sky Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Bayern are showing concrete interest in Atalanta forward Charles De Ketelaere. The Belgian forward has given the green light to a move to Munich, but Die Roten have not held talks with Atalanta regarding a transfer.
Bild journalist Christian Falk has reported that Bayern are not planning a move for Charles De Ketelaere. There is a possibility that the Belgian forward is slightly below in Die Roten's list of transfer targets for this summer,
De Ketelaere’s versatility makes him a right fit for Bayern this summer
Charles De Ketelaere can play in multiple positions in the attack, which makes him the right type of profile for Bayern to pursue this summer transfer window. However, he has not been very productive in the final third this season.
The Belgian forward has managed to score five goals for Atalanta. However, he has been the main creator for the Italian club this season. The 25-year-old has five assists to his name, while creating 59 chances in Serie A, the highest in Atalanta’s squad.
With the best years of his career ahead of him, Ketelaere can be a good signing for Bayern provided they don’t pay an exorbitant fee for him. Atalanta are in a strong negotiation position as the Belgian forward’s contract expires in 2028.
