Bayern Munich had to explore options in the transfer market to strengthen the defense early in the summer due to several injury issues. They managed to quickly clinch a deal for Jonathan Tah, beating the likes of Manchester United, FC Barcelona, and Real Madrid.

The Bundesliga champions are not actively seeking another center-back, but they do have interest in several young defenders. Bayern were in the race to sign Bournemouth center-back Dean Huijsen, but he has eventually decided to join Real Madrid this summer.

The arrival of a new center-back depends on the potential departures in the squad. Dayot Upamecano is eager to stay in Munich. He is in talks to sign a new deal with Bayern. However, the situation is slightly different for Kim Min-jae. The South Korean defender is facing an uncertain future in Munich. He is also reportedly contemplating a move away from Bavaria, with interest shown by Saudi Arabian clubs and Juventus.

Bayern will certainly prepare for the scenario where they have to explore center-back options to replace Kim Min-jae. According to a reliable Tottenham insider, Bayern Munich have shown interest in Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi. While the source is primarily known for Spurs-related updates, they’ve shared early transfer insights that have proven accurate in the past.

Guehi has also been linked with a move with Tottenham Hotspur. He had a terrific season with Crystal Palace. Since the English defender has one year left on his contract, Crystal Palace will look to cash in.

Bayern enjoyed success by dealing with Crystal Palace last summer as they got a terrific player in Michael Olise. They could potentially land another great signing from Palace if they end up signing Guehi.

Bayern frustrated with exorbitant demands of Bayer Leverkusen for Tah

The Bundesliga champions remain locked in talks with Bayer Leverkusen for the early release of Tah. Bayern want the German defender in the squad for the first Club World Cup match on June 15, but Tah’s contract at Leverkusen ends on June 30.

According to Sky Sports in Germany, Leverkusen want €7 million to release Tah. Die Roten believe that Bayer Leverkusen are making an exorbitant demand to release a player 15 days early from his contract. Meanwhile, Leverkusen are eager to make things difficult for Bayern as they are losing one of their key players on a free transfer.

Bayern are frustrated with the situation, but they will hope to find a resolution to the situation sooner rather than later.
