Bayern Munich is going through one of its biggest injury crises in recent years, specifically when it comes to the attack. The attack has been stripped to the bare bones, leaving only Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Lennart Karl as the only fit first-team attackers, which puts Bayern in almost a worst-case scenario should another attacking injury arise.

With the January window still months away, Bayern can't afford to sit and wait for the window to open to bring in reinforcements, with a number of key attackers out with long-term injuries. Thankfully for Bayern, there are some players available as free agents that they could bring in to help patch some holes during the injury crisis, and they should look at one in particular: one with loads of Bundesliga experience, and one Bayern know very well, Jadon Sancho.

Bayern should consider bringing in the Englishman despite recent struggles

Bayern's attacking injury crisis is a worst-case scenario for an already thin squad. Ismael Saibari needed ankle surgery and is expected to be out for 3-4 months, while Serge Gnabry re-aggravated his pre-season injury and is expected to miss the rest of the calendar year 2026. Luis Diaz and Jamal Musiala are expected to be back after the international break, but there is always the risk they could also re-aggravate their injuries and miss more time, so bringing in a player like Sancho on a short-term deal, even if it's just for the rest of the season, could be a beneficial move for the club.

While Sancho's career hasn't gone the way anyone was expecting, he's still only 26-years-old and found his best form during his time in the Bundesliga. We all remember his early days at Borussia Dortmund, but during his tough time at Manchester United, he returned to Dortmund on loan in January of the 23/24 season, and he started to thrive again, making it to the Champions League final that season.

The Englishman seems most comfortable in the Bundesliga, and with his ability to play on both the left and right wing, he could be a solid addition to the Bayern squad. Bayern were linked with Sancho in the past but never pulled the trigger on a move; but with the current injury situation, now could be the time to take a gamble on him.

It's a gamble; there's no doubt about that. Sancho was in some of his worst form of his career last season, and has had off-the-pitch issues in the past that could come to bite Bayern if they do bring him in, but with all the key injuries, they need to take a gamble. A short-term deal just for the rest of the season would make the most sense as long as his wage demands aren't ridiculous, but at the end of the day, it's down to Bayern whether they want to take the gamble on the 26-year-old.
