Bayern Munich look much more organised in the ongoing transfer window compared to last summer. They have already completed their business by signing three players. Bayern will focus on departures for the next three weeks.
Die Roten have also successfully negotiated a new contract for Konrad Laimer. The Bavarian club is confident about extending the contract of Harry Kane, who has entered the final year of his current deal. Kane is content with life in Munich and wants to sign a new contract.
After delivering a productive transfer window, Bayern chiefs are set to be rewarded with new deals.
According to Sport1 and Bild, Bayern have agreed to extend the contracts of Director of Sport Max Eberl and CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen. The supervisory board meeting later this month will decide the length of their new contracts.
The club’s five-member presidential committee has already given the green light to new contracts for Eberl and Dreesen. There will be negotiations with Eberl and Dreesen regarding salary, but everything looks on track for both of them to stay beyond their current contracts.
Eberl wins over the board with proactive work this summer
Dreesen’s contract extension at Bayern looked like a formality. There was no significant speculation around his future at the club. However, Max Eberl faced uncertainty over his future in Munich going into the summer. Reports in Germany suggested that Eberl still had a lot to prove in the summer to earn a contract extension.
As per Bild, Eberl worked hard on improving his relationships with Uli Hoeness and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. The legendary German duo are part of the presidential committee. He ensured there was better communication regarding transfers, which eventually helped him to strengthen his case for a new contract.
Hoeness publicly praised Eberl for the club’s work in the transfer window when he was talking to the media at the training camp in Tegernsee. The public praise from Hoeness certainly suggested that Eberl will be staying at Die Roten beyond 2027.
Along with Eberl and Dreesen, Bayern will also extend the contract of Christoph Freund. The Austrian is admired for his work at the club since arriving from RB Salzburg three years ago.
Eberl and Freund are currently working on finding clubs for three fringe players. Bryan Zaragoza, Sacha Boey, and Joao Palhinha have been told to look for a transfer away from Munich since they are not part of the club’s plans for next season. In an ideal scenario, Bayern manage to move them permanently this summer.
