Bayern Munich completed one crucial contract extension this week by securing the future of Konrad Laimer. The Austrian midfielder has signed a deal until 2029 after entering the final year of his previous contract at Bayern.

Die Roten will turn their attention to extending Harry Kane's contract. The English forward has also entered the final year of his contract. With the World Cup behind him, the BBC is reporting that talks will accelerate between Bayern and Kane for a new contract.

Kane is content with life in Munich. Die Roten are also keen on extending his contract, as Kane has been their best attacking player since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 for €100 million. The preliminary talks regarding a new deal have already taken place between Kane and Bayern.

Talksport journalist Ben Jacobs (via iMiaSanMia) reported that FC Barcelona inquired about Kane as they are looking for a striker to fill the void left by Robert Lewandowski. Al-Hilal have also monitored Kane’s situation at Bayern, but the Bavarian club is confident about keeping him in Bavaria.

Kane showing no signs of decline

The English forward will look for a new four-year contract. In any other scenario, offering a four-year contract to a 32-year-old striker would be a controversial decision. However, in Kane’s situation, it is a no-brainer for Bayern.

The former Spurs striker has shown no signs of slowing down. He became the quickest player to score 100 goals for a club in the 21st century. Kane has scored 146 goals in 147 appearances for Die Roten over the last three seasons. The England international also has 33 assists to his name. It is fair to say Kane has been the most consistent striker in Europe during his time at Bayern.

Along with his exploits on the pitch, Kane is a terrific professional and leader in the dressing room. Several young players at Bayern have consistently insisted that Kane has been a great mentor for them.

From a fitness standpoint, Kane has missed only 8 games for Bayern over the last three seasons. The English forward’s game is adaptable as he can drop deep and create chances for other attacking players.

Kane ticks all the boxes for an elite striker, so Bayern shouldn’t hesitate to offer him a long-term contract. The English forward can play for Die Roten at a top level for several years. Considering how difficult it is to get a world-class striker in the current transfer market, Bayern fans will hope Kane signs the new contract sooner rather than later.
