Bayern Munich chiefs are going to enjoy another productive winter transfer window when it comes to extending contracts of key players. They are close to clinching deals for Serge Gnabry and Konrad Laimer. Bayern are also making good progress in contract talks with Dayot Upamecano.

The Bavarian club had enjoyed similar success in contract talks with three key players last winter when Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, and Joshua Kimmich signed long-term deals.

Bayern are hoping to seal the new contract with Upamecano and then turn their attention to negotiating a new deal with Harry Kane. The English striker’s current deal is set to expire in 2027. According to SportBild (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern will open contract talks with Kane in February.

Kane had a release clause in his contract, but he has no intention of leaving Munich in the summer. Bayern are also keen to offer him a new contract since he continues to score in excess of 40 goals every season.

The England international has been nothing but spectacular for Die Roten since arriving from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023. Kane became the fastest player in the 21st century to score 100 goals for a single club. His scoring record for Bayern stands at a staggering 116 goals in 122 appearances. Kane also has 30 assists to his name for Die Roten.

Kane starts Ruckrunde with a bang

The English striker has been sensational for Bayern this season. He has scored 31 goals across all competitions. Kane is leading the Bundesliga charts with 20 goals in 16 appearances.

Kane started the second half of the season in the best possible way. He looked sharp during Bayern’s 8-1 win against Wolfsburg on Sunday. He scored the best goal of the game by curling the ball past the keeper from the edge of the box. The Bavarian faithful will hope Kane continues this incredible scoring form until the end of the season and helps the team win the treble.

Even though Kane is 32, it is a no-brainer for Bayern to extend his contract. He is showing no signs of decline. Moreover, he has excelled in a slightly deeper role without compromising his output in the final third. Kane’s fitness levels are excellent, which will ensure he plays at the top level for several more years.

Bayern should look to offer him a new four-year contract, which will ensure Kane will be in Munich at least until the age of 36. Kane is also content with life in Munich, so contract negotiations could be straightforward.
