Whose decision was it to sell Adam Aznou
Without being a fly on the wall during meetings at Sabener StraBe, there is sufficient reason to believe that Vincent Kompany viewed playing Adam Aznou as too much of a risk.
If that’s the case, then it’s a shame, especially since Aznou got the blessing from his national team coach to prioritize the FIFA Club World Cup with Bayern ahead of friendly internationals for the Moroccan team at the end of the season.
Sadly, Aznou’s only game time at the Club World Cup came when he made an appearance from the bench for the final eight minutes of Bayern’s opening match against Auckland City. The German Champions won that match 10-0 and were leading 6-0 at the end of the first half. If ever there was a chance to allow Aznou to strut his stuff, that was the game to do it.
