After having a bid rejected in the summer, Bayern Munich are expected to revive their interest in the young forward from FC Midtjylland in the future transfer windows.

Adding new forwards to the squad was a priority for Bayern Munich last summer. They managed to sign Luis Diaz on a permanent deal from Liverpool. The Bavarian club also agreed a loan deal with Chelsea for Nicolas Jackson, with an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met.

Bayern parted ways with Thomas Müller, Leroy Sane, Paul Wanner, and Kingsley Coman in the summer. Along with Diaz and Jackson, Die Roten tried to sign another forward before the end of the transfer window.

The record Bundesliga champions had tried to sign Franculino Djú from FC Midtjylland in the final days of the transfer window. According to Bold (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern remain interested in signing Djú and continue to scout him. A Bayern scout was recently spotted at MCH Arena during Midtjylland’s game against Aarhus GF.

Djú has been in fine form this season. The 21-year-old forward has scored 13 goals in 13 appearances this season. He has largely played as a number nine for the Danish club. Djú certainly has the skillset and potential to be a very good striker. A move to Bayern will be a big step up for him since replicating similar numbers in the Bundesliga will be challenging.

The 21-year-old forward has a contract until 2029, so Bayern will have to pay a significant fee to sign him from FC Midtjylland.

Bayern Munich will need forwards next summer

Since the start of the season, Bayern have been consistently linked with defenders. There is uncertainty around the futures of Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae. Die Roten are reportedly in talks with players who will be free agents in the summer.

Even though there will be a lot of focus on defensive signings, Bayern will need to strengthen the attack next summer. Jackson has started slowly in the Bavarian colours this season. It will take a hell lot of effort from him to ensure the option to buy becomes an obligation.

The emergence of Lennart Karl has certainly strengthened Die Roten’s options in the attack. The return of Jamal Musiala will improve the attack, but it makes sense for Die Roten to sign a player like Djú, who can be a very good option from the bench. He can eventually be developed into a long-term successor of Kane. It will be interesting to see if Djú will agree to a move to Die Roten since his game time may dip a bit with this transfer.
