Midfield

DM, Aleksandar Pavlović: Vincent Kompany was able to field his first-choice midfield pair against FC Heidenheim. Pavlović made his first start for Bayern in two months. The 20-year-old midfielder showed no rustiness on Saturday as he helped the team dominate the game. Considering how Pavlović has done well in big European away games, it is a no-brainer to start him on Tuesday.

CM, Joshua Kimmich: This season continues to get better for Joshua Kimmich. The German midfielder delivered a pinpoint cross from the corner against Heidenheim to set up the goal for Dayot Upamecano. Kimmich will have the same role in the midfield against Shakhtar Donetsk.

AM, Jamal Musiala: In front of the midfield pivot, Jamal Musiala will return to the starting XI. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder was given a rest against Heidenheim, but he had to come in the second half when the score was 1-1. He scored twice and helped Die Roten to clinch the victory. Musiala has been in sublime form away from home, which suggests there could be another special performance from him on Tuesday.
