Midfield
Leon Goretzka - 7
Didn't always look convincing in possession, but his pressing and energy going forward were a positive as Bayern were trying to overwhelm Gladbach's defensive block.
Joshua Kimmich - 8.5
Worked hard all game and dictated Bayern’s build-up. Held the midfield together largely on his own as Goretzka played much higher up.
Attack
Thomas Müller - 6
Thomas Muller was very lively in the first half and got involved in several attacks but ultimately couldn’t make a difference. Missed a big chance to give Bayern an early lead.
Leroy Sané - 5
A performance to forget for the 29-year-old. Looked rusty, indecisive, and missed a clear cut chance to bury the game. Showings like this won't help his case for the contract extension.
Harry Kane - 6
Struggled to get at the end of chances and had a pretty anonymous game overall. Converted the penalty brilliantly to give Bayern the lead.
Michael Olise - 9
Bayern's most dangerous attacking threat of the night, by far. He created 4 big chances, all of which went unconverted. Won the penalty that ultimately secured the three points for Bayern.
Substitutes
Kingsley Coman - 7.5
Subbed on for Thomas Müller in the 60th minute. Bayern’s left wing look much more threatening with his inclusion. 1v1 brilliance led to the penalty for Bayern.
Serge Gnabry - 6
Came on for Leroy Sané in the 73rd minute. Got in some good positions to double Bayern’s lead but failed in doing so.
