Defense

Alphonso Davies: 9/10

The Canadian was Bayern’s brightest player during the first 30 minutes when they were struggling to create chances. He did a great job at counter-pressing and was a constant threat going forward.

Kim Min-jae: 8/10

Didn’t put a foot wrong in the whole game. Won several duels against Benfica attackers and shone with his ball-playing abilities by completing a staggering 113 passes.

Dayot Upamecano: 8/10

Colossal performance from the Frenchman. Shut out all attacking channels for Benfica.

Konrad Laimer: 7/10

It was a mixed-bag performance from the Austrian who often found himself in great attacking situations but didn’t always make the right decision. Nevertheless, his relentless energy felt much needed in a team which otherwise looked rather slow and passive, especially in the first half.
