Bayern Munich player ratings from 1–0 win against Benfica
Bayern Munich had to dig deep to get a result against a defensively resolute S.L. Benfica on the fourth matchday of the UEFA Champions League. The only goal for Vincent Kompany’s team came from Jamal Musiala in the 67th minute. The 21-year-old, who continues enjoying a rich vein of form, scored a headed goal to keep his team in contention for a top-8 finish in the UCL League phase.
It was not a vintage performance from Bayern, but they managed to do enough to get the win. Let’s look at the player ratings for Bayern Munich in the crucial win against Benfica.
Attack
Harry Kane: 7.5/10
The Bayern talisman didn’t get a lot of service today but he still made his mark on the result by setting up Musiala’s decisive goal.
Serge Gnabry: 6/10
A poor performance by Gnabry’s standards. Was wasteful from some really good positions. Rarely used his pace to offer in-behind runs that could've troubled Benfica who were more focused on being compact centrally.
Micheal Olise: 6/10
The Frenchman didn’t have much impact on the proceedings of the game. Gave the ball away sloppily quite a few times and his crosses weren’t up to the mark. He was justifiably hooked for Leroy Sane after the first half.
