More than half of Bayern Munich's first-team squad played for their respective nations during the October international break. Some made a big impact for their country, but a few couldn't find form in these matches.
All five of Germany's call-ups, Joshua Kimmich, Jonathan Tah, Aleksandar Pavlovic, Leon Goretzka, and Serge Gnabry, started in both World Cup qualifiers. Bayern's German contingent delivered great performances en route to two wins for Die Mannschaft.
In the first game against Luxembourg, Joshua Kimmich scored a brace while Serge Gnabry added an instinctive finish in a massive victory. Tah, Pavlovic, and Goretzka all showed their quality, controlling the tempo for Germany and keeping a clean sheet. While there was no goal contribution for the Bayern stars against Northern Ireland, they displayed composure to secure three points in a hard-fought battle.
Youngster Tom Bischof donned the captain's armband for Germany U21 in the U21 European Championship qualifier. The midfielder had an assist in both games and looked very solid.
Harry Kane missed the first game for England due to injury precaution. When he came back in the second match against Latvia, he once again reminded the world why he is the most in-form striker right now with a first-half double.
Kane's attacking partner at Bayern, Luis Diaz, also scored one goal in Colombia's 4-0 thrashing against Mexico with a brilliantly composed chip shot.
His other partner in crime, Michael Olise, contributed 10 key passes in the two games for France and was unfortunately not able to pick up an assist. Olise's compatriot Dayot Upamecano featured for 90 minutes in both matches, cementing himself as the preferred centre-back choice for Didier Deschamps.
The Bayern player with the most goal contributions this international break was Nicolas Jackson. A goal and two assists for Jackson in Senegal's nine-goal fiesta across two qualifying games.
Konrad Laimer returned to his original position in the midfield for Austria and put his name on the scoresheet in a 10-goal demolition of San Marino. The second fixture against Romania was a nightmare for Bayern's workhorse. Laimer only won two out of his 14 duels in a disappointing match where they lost in the final seconds.
KIm Min-jae had a mixed international break
Kim Min-jae was still among the call-ups for South Korea in the friendlies despite only recently returning from injuries. His first game back was an absolute disaster when he made a vital mistake, which ended up in a Brazil goal. Kim was substituted around the hour mark. However, he redeemed himself quickly in the next match against Paraguay. From the worst player on the pitch against Brazil, he became the best player for South Korea against Paraguay.
All Bayern players showed their quality and maintained decent form during the international break. Now it's time to return and prepare their best for the upcoming Der Klassiker.
