Bayern Munich are expecting a few departures in the summer transfer window. Leon Goretzka is the most high-profile departure for Bayern as they decide against offering him a new deal. He will be leaving Munich on a free transfer.
Raphael Guerreiro will also leave Bayern at the end of the season. The Portuguese full-back is also leaving on a free transfer. As things stand, these two players are confirmed departures, but reports in Germany have suggested that Alphonso Davies could also leave Die Roten in the summer.
However, Bayern’s stance regarding Davies is different. According to Sky Sports in Germany, the Bundesliga champions are not actively looking to part ways with Davies. It will take an incredible offer for Die Roten to even consider a scenario of his departure.
Vincent Kompany rates Davies highly, which was evident through the Canadian full-back’s form under the Belgian coach during the 2024/25 campaign. Davies also rediscovered his best form under Kompany after a quiet couple of years.
Bayern managed to secure the future of Davies at the start of 2025. The Canadian was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, but he decided to sign a new bumper deal at Bayern. Everything was looking good for Davies at Bayern until he suffered a serious injury during the international break in March 2025. Davies was ruled out for more than six months due to this injury. He made his return to action at the end of Hinrunde this season.
The return from injury has not been smooth for Davies as he suffered a setback in March, and his form has been patchy, which has led to speculation around his future. It does look like Bayern want to stick with Davies as they believe he will get back to his best.
Bayern plan to sign a deputy for Davies in the summer
Even though Bayern are not planning to listen to offers for Davies, Bayern are expected to strengthen the left-back position. The Bavarian club wants to sign two full-backs in the summer since Guerreiro is leaving, and Sacha Boey is expected to seal a permanent transfer in the summer.
Josip Stanisic and Konrad Laimer have done a good job whenever they have played in the full-back positions this season. However, Bayern need more depth in this position next season since more rotation will be needed, as players will accumulate fatigue after playing in the World Cup during the summer.
